Are you the nostalgic type of person who would like to live in the past? Do you furnish your home with the intent of creating an antique atmosphere while still attempting to remain as practical and functional as possible? One of the longtime favorites for antique lovers and those who enjoy re-purposing old furnishings is the clawfoot bathtub.

If you have an old tub that is in dire need to refinishing, we are here to help you! We are an established and growing local bathroom refinishing company. We are licensed, bonded, certified and ready to serve you. We have the knowledge and expertise to do the work right the first time, so you don’t have to send your precious time and money, and end up with an only mediocre result.

If you choose us, the first thing that needs to be done is to have the tub removed from the house to an area large enough to work in, and one where it won’t be a big deal if there is a little mess created. After the tub has been removed, we will begin removing all the years of dirt, grim, and paint off of it.

As with many furnishings, you may be surprised how many layers of paint there can be. To accomplish this task, several methods can be used. There is the old fashioned manual sanding, a sandblaster, or manual scraping.  Since all tub refinishing are different, it will likely require a combination of the three methods. Once the tub has been cleaned up and the old paint has been removed, we will apply a fresh coat of paint and a clear coat if you desire one.

Lastly, we will remove all of the old fittings. The fittings such as the drain cover, nozzle, and hot and cold water knobs will go through the same process as the body of the tub itself. We will clean them up, paint them if desired, and put them back into place with new sealants.

While we will certainly try to keep the tub as original as possible, that may not always happen. Occasionally, replacing the fittings with new parts may be the best option.

Finally your tub is all cleaned up, looking brand new, and ready to be returned to it’s rightful place in your bathroom. As soon as it is back in place, we recommend that you sit back, relax, and enjoy a soak in your “new” old clawfoot bathtub.
